EMDR INTENSIVE THERAPY IN NEW YORK, NY
Transformative EMDR work in an accelerated format. Available online across NY & UT.
YOU’VE FELT THIS WAY FOR TOO LONG, AND YOU’RE READY FOR CHANGE.
Maybe you’ve already reflected on your past, learned some coping skills, and started to understand the patterns from the past that are keeping you and your relationships stuck where they are now. But even with all of this knowledge (or even progress), things still don’t feel different.
You may find yourself thinking:
“I understand why I feel this way…but nothing is actually changing.”
OR:
“I’m tired of talking about it. I want to actually move past it.”
Weekly therapy sessions can be extremely helpful, but it also has limits. Sometimes, just as you begin to reach something important in a session, time runs out. Then you spend the week trying to hold everything together until the next appointment.
Instead of revisiting the hurt and pain you feel each week, intensives give your nervous system the time and space it needs to finish the healing process without interruption.
THE EMDR INTENSIVE PROCESS
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy aimed at helping your brain and nervous system process experiences that still feel emotionally “stuck.” It releases the emotional charge connected to them, so the past no longer feels like it’s happening in the present. Learn more about EMDR here.
EMDR Intensives are extended therapy experiences that serve as an opportunity to prioritize yourself and your wellbeing, designed to provide both deep therapeutic work and strong emotional support. The process unfolds in three structured phases, so your nervous system feels prepared and integrated throughout the work.
Pre-Intensive Preparation
90-minute preparation session | $300
Before the intensive, we meet to prepare your nervous system and create a clear roadmap for our work together. This session helps ensure you are ready for the reprocess and that we are targeting the experiences that will be most meaningful for your healing.
During this session we:
Clarify your goals for the intensive
Identify specific memory clusters or experiences we will focus on
Make sure you feel emotionally prepared for the work
Strengthen grounding & coping strategies
Create a customized plan for the intensive session
01
The Intensive Session
Base duration: 3 hours | $600
(Additional time available at $200 per hour)
This is where the focused, deep work occurs. Unlike weekly therapy, this extended session allows us to dedicate uninterrupted time to reprocessing experiences that have remained stuck in your nervous system.
Because we are not limited by the traditional therapy hour, we are able to:
Stay with the process long enough for real shifts to happen
Work through connected memories or patterns
Explore the layers of experiences that have built up over time
Strengthen new beliefs, resilience, & self-trust
Breaks are taken as needed throughout the session to make sure you and your nervous system feel supported. The goal of this phase is to facilitate progress that may have taken months or years to address in traditional weekly sessions.
02
Post-Intensive Integration
90-minute follow-up session | $300
(Scheduled approximately one week after your intensive)
Integration is a key step in the healing journey. This follow-up session helps ensure the changes from the intensive continue to support you in your daily life.
During this session, we will:
Reflect on the insights & shifts you’ve noticed since the intensive
Address any remaining emotions or reactions
Talk about what comes next for you & create a personalized self-care plan
03
THE POWER OF INTENSIVES
YOU FEEL RELIEF (and fast).
Instead of waiting week after week for progress, the intensive allows your brain to process more in a shorter, accelerated window.
SELF-CRITICISM STARTS TO SOFTEN.
Thoughts like “I’m not good enough,” “I messed everything up,” or “this is all my fault” start to lose their intensity and grip on your life.
YOUR BODY FINALLY BEGINS TO RELAX.
Instead of constantly feeling on edge or waiting for something to go wrong, your nervous system knows how to settle and feel calmer.
THE SAME OLD EMOTIONAL SPIRALS STOP.
Situations that once triggered strong or confusing reactions begin to lose their emotional charge, and you’re able to respond from the present moment rather than the past.
IT’S TIME FOR THE PAST TO STOP INTERRUPTING YOUR PRESENT.
FAQs
COMMON QUESTIONS
-
EMDR intensives work best when your nervous system has enough stability to process deeper material. So they may not be appropriate if you’re:
Currently experiencing active suicidal thoughts
Actively using substances in a way that affects emotional stability
Are in an unsafe or abusive environment
In these situations, the priority becomes stabilization and safety first.

Most couples don't lack understanding of their patterns — they lack the ability to stop them in the moment. You can know exactly what's happening and still find yourself in the same argument, the same withdrawal, the same cycle of hurt and repair. That gap between knowing and changing is where EMDR works.
Old patterns in relationships rarely begin in the relationship itself. They begin in earlier experiences — moments where you learned that closeness wasn't safe, that your needs were too much, that you had to manage someone else's emotions to feel secure. Those experiences get carried quietly into your closest relationships long before you realize they're there.
EMDR works directly with those earlier experiences. Through reprocessing, the emotional charge attached to them begins to release—and with it, the automatic reactions they've been fueling. What once felt like an inevitable spiral starts to feel like a choice—because the nervous system is no longer responding to the present as if it were the past.
For couples who have already done meaningful work and still feel stuck, this is often the missing piece—and for many, reprocessing together becomes one of the most connecting experiences they've had.

Everyone’s experience is different, but many people begin noticing shifts in their thoughts, emotions, and even in their body soon after the work. Some changes feel immediate, while others continue to unfold over time. As these shifts happen, clients often notice a difference in how they respond in their daily life—feeling lighter, calmer, and less reactive. Since EMDR intensives dedicate focused time to processing the root experiences driving your symptoms, the nervous system often responds more quickly than it does in traditional weekly therapy.

Yes. Many forms of trauma—especially childhood or relational trauma—involve multiple experiences that build on each other over time. An EMDR intensive allows us to address those layers in a focused way rather than touching on them briefly each week. This deep and continuous processing helps the brain finally complete the work and release what the nervous system has been holding ever since.

I have been practicing EMDR since 2018 and have been certified since 2021. Certification Number: 161550
My approach focuses on pacing the work carefully, identifying the right memories to target, and supporting your nervous system throughout the process so the healing feels structured, steady, and sustainable.

Some clients choose to continue therapy afterward, while others feel that the intensive addressed the primary issue they wanted to work on. During the post-intensive integration session, we’ll talk about what you’re noticing, how the shifts are showing up in daily life, and what the next steps might look like for you.
